Consultancy proposal samples: preserve genuine work evidence while handling client confidentiality

A consultancy proposal may need evidence of previous deliverables while the provider must protect client information. The answer is not to invent an impressive report and label it past work. A historical UNOPS consultancy clarification describes an anonymized-sample option. This article explains a preparation task. It does not authorize disclosure of a real client’s material or assess whether a particular redaction is legally sufficient.

The buyer asks for genuine examples

The UNOPS RFP/2025/56841 log, checked on 3 October 2026, records a May 2025 answer permitting previous similar reports with client names and recognizable data anonymized. The buyer still wants actual examples of deliverables. We did not examine an actual report, authorship record or client’s permission. The June 2025 deadline is past.

Establish the sample’s provenance first

An illustrative internal sample record should identify the genuine assignment, the provider’s role and the original material location. Keep that provenance record under the business’s appropriate access controls. A public or submitted sample can use an authorized description, but it should not claim sole authorship where the provider contributed only part of the work.

If a hypothetical consultancy can disclose a design demonstration but not a past client deliverable, label the demonstration honestly. It may or may not satisfy the actual solicitation. The researcher should not reclassify it as completed client work to fill the requirement. The buyer’s current rules and human review determine suitability.

Review identification beyond the client name

Removing a company name does not necessarily remove other recognizable information. The responsible reviewer should examine the content for details that reveal the assignment or client in context. This is an editorial review prompt, not a claim that a specific anonymization technique complies with every obligation. No actual confidential material was processed here.

Keep a record of what was removed or changed and why. Changes made to protect identity should not manufacture findings or transform the deliverable’s substance into a different project. If a meaningful sample cannot be shared within the applicable permissions, record that limitation and seek an authorized alternative.

Maintain a truthful relationship to the offered service

The sample should support the relevant claim in the proposal. An attractive report from an unrelated assignment may demonstrate presentation but not the requested analytical work. Record which aspect of capability the sample actually supports and what remains unproven. Do not invent client satisfaction, awards, expert teams or measured outcomes.

Any current qualification decision belongs to the buyer and the applicable evidence process. A public clarification does not guarantee acceptance of a particular sample. Actual confidentiality, copyright and disclosure permissions need the responsible business and qualified review where relevant.

A useful sample record

Our editorial recommendation is to preserve genuine provenance, authorized disclosure and a narrow capability claim together. The result is a sample a reviewer can understand without exposing unsupported client details or fabricating experience. No consultancy or past project was rated in this research. Actual permissions and qualification require responsible review. The historical answer illustrates responsible evidence preparation, not a universal right to publish confidential work.
